Horse appraisal in Virginia.
Our team appraises horses all over Virginia, and in every other state besides. We see mostly eventers and field hunters here, though plenty of hunters cross the desk too, and the process doesn't change from one to the next.
Sweet Briar College and Virginia Tech are the names most people know here, though therapy centers across Virginia take donated horses as well.
Questions we get about Virginia
- How do you value a field hunter with no papers?
- On performance and temperament. A proven field hunter with no registration can be worth considerably more than a papered horse that won't go forward to a fence, and the comparables come from the hunting community rather than from a breed registry.
- Do you appraise event horses by level?
- Yes. Completed levels and results at those levels drive the number, and a horse that has run a level once isn't the same as a horse that runs it consistently.
